Frequently Asked
Questions
How does it work?
The LimeLoop package is a sustainable shipping solution that is designed to be reused over and over, in place of a cardboard box or poly-mailer. When a consumer receives their product in a LimeLoop reusable package, they remove their product, flip the pre-paid return label over, and drop the package back in the mailbox instead of in the trash. The package is then mailed back to the retailer so it can be used again for the next customer. As we like to say, it’s as easy as zip, flip + ship.

What’s the environmental savings?
The LimeLoop reusable package is built to last up to ten plus years, fulfilling over 200 shipments. This extended life cycle reduces carbon emissions, energy, and the consumption of valuable resources such as trees, water, and oil required to upcycle cardboard and poly.
150 shipments saves (1 shipper):
- 13 thousand gallons of water
- 1 tree
- 3 gallons of oil
20k shipments saves (200 shippers):
- 178 thousand gallons of water
- 132 trees
- 400 gallons of oil
What happens to damaged packages, or packages that have outlived their life cycle?
Damaged shippers are flagged and re-routed to our partner workshops for repair. Over time, as a package reaches the end of its product cycle, it is taken to innovative upcycling facilities where the material is converted to continue its use beyond its life as a LimeLoop reusable package.
